The inks were only $13 on amazon, but trying different papers have been expensive. Watercolor paper didn't work... computer paper picked up the lines but the paper itself was muddy gray... but the rice paper has (so far) worked the best. Today, I'll be visiting Jerry's Artist Outlet in North Jersey to pick up copperplate paper. Here's some tester sheets with the rice paper. It's a little opaque but looked the best.
If I do this activity with my students, I'm thinking we can make this the cover of a sketchbook that we can staple together. It's so fun to do. Even if you don't have students or children, it's worth it to relax while making concentric circles over and over. Treat yourself to some art therapy!
