I celebrated a birthday recently and spent it with some wonderful people. That's probably the only good thing about celebrating this annual event. Check out these beautiful handmade polymer clay salt and pepper shakers for my collection that the beautiful and talented, Julie Lockwood made. If you want custom shakers comment below and I'll send you her contact info.
The first half of the day, Daimon and I took my sister to a nature festival. She planted acorns, pet a wolf, took a hayride across the festival, sipped local honey from honeysticks, and watched a prescribed burning.
Future trees!
The second half of the day, Daimon took me to the city for good eats and a trip to 2 museums: the Met and the Ukrainian Egg Museum. I loved both! Seeing all those patterns made me realize that there is such passion and dedication to these little works of art. Just one egg was over $50 in the giftshop.
This store was next to the Ukrainian Egg Museum and became fast friends with the store owner. We were excited to see local honey and all the supplies you need to make your own pysanky eggs. We'll definitely be back!
Photography was not allowed in the MET, but I really wished I could have. The works in that embroidery exhibit, "Interwoven Globe", were so impressive... you have to check it out before the show is over.
