The Biggest Band Night of the Year

Some people don't know that the night before Thanksgiving is the best night of the year (next to New Years Eve) to have a gig. This will be the first time in nearly 6 (or 7?) years that I didn't have a gig. Daimon and I are going to see a band, Music Box, a Genesis tribute band in Redbank tonight. I hope to see some interesting costumes. We might  end up at the Stone Pony too, to see River City Extension if there's time after the show.

Here's some info on Music Box if you're interested- here.

Some pics from the week:

One of my students drew this and I put it on the bulletin board behind my desk. It's not the best quality picture, but this is pretty advanced for someone without any references. Look at all the details! I look the boot spurs and gestures of the hands.

In one of my recent lessons on drawing negative shapes, I had students draw from a still life of an upside down bicycle.  Many of the students were surprised when they flipped their drawings over to see a pretty good drawing of a bike.

At-home therapy: Scratchboard and a singing bowl.
