It was a proud 2 hours for me as the art teacher at my high school to put together their very first official art show at the prestigious Middletown Arts Center. While it's a shame that such talented students never had their work shown before, it was also an honor to be that person to do it right- a big space, snacks, and projects that showcase their talents. Pieces like this post-impressionist horror movie tribute were at the show.
This embroidery took one of my students nearly 4 months to complete. His stitches are unbelievably small. The army tank is still a work in progress.
A watercolor piece that referenced M.C. Escher.
A large canvas was exhibited that most of the school participated in painting. It was a freeform piece that changed every day.
I also worked the entire weekend after the show; both Saturday and Sunday I taught filled pysanky classes. It's such a rewarding experience to see the different designs people come up with. This design was made by a 13 year old girl.
But all work and no play is not my style. Daimon and I went to Island Beach AND double trouble state park AND Point Pleasant Beach today looking for purple shells and fox teeth, and celebrating a lovely lady's birthday. Today's weather was perfect.
You know you're corny when you can take this picture and say your heart's at the beach.
