Collections: PART 2: Fabric, vintage and new

It's been a long time since I posted about any of my collections, since this last post in January.  I have some notable collections worth sharing.  If I didn't have to work and had loads of time on my hands, I would like to write a book about people and their unusual collections, ie. wedding cake toppers, 1950's kitchen appliances, etc.  It's amazing how some collections get started too. This post is about my huge collection of fabrics.

Hand me downs, fat quarters, scraps, 1950's, made in New Jersey... you name it and I have it... pounds and pounds of fabric.  It's one of those collections that is truly functional and not for show.  I plan on making a psychedelic chicken skirt soon.

Sewing requires quite a few supplies so you need a creative space. There's no way I could make some of my creations without a home base.  I don't take for granted having everything in order because, for the longest time, I had my supplies EVERYWHERE; in the car, my parents' house, my apartment in north New Jersey.  I tend to make and creative more when everything is accessible to me.

And I never waste. I keep nearly all my scraps and turn them into business cards.
