Of course I'd be down for a last minute trip to the Museum of Modern Art in New York City, that's one of my favorite places! The Bjork exhibit was so much more than I could have imagined; partially because we went to see the exhibit with two dedicated fans of her work. The exhibit encapsulated her passion and poetry, both in her music and visual displays. What an innovative career she had! The four of us were disappointed that the costume portion of the exhibit was sold out and the gravity harp needed repair, but it was an experience none the less.
This satirical painting was one I never saw at the MoMa before. Otto Dix is the man!
Kokoschka's work.
We saw a special exhibit on Toulouse Lautrec too. Besides the provocative imagery, I took notice to the colored outlines and bright ruby reds in his work.
We passed the beautiful St. Patricks Cathedral on the way to this interesting Scandinavian candy store in the West Village, called Sockerbit. AMAAAAZZINGG! You can order their candy online, although it's way more fun to pick what you want and make impulsive decisions. I spent way too much money on sour watermelons, dark chocolate eggs and orange slices.
He's a seasoned recording engineer, and brilliant writer- Tony Appleseed's show in May is one I can't wait for. His album, Metanoia, hits home for me; and it's one I will definitely play out in a month before I need a mental break. You won't want to miss this one:
