DC in the dark

Anytime we go away with this one particular eccentric couple, it is predictable that something unpredictable will happen.  That's what makes getting away with them so much more exciting.  Who would've thought we'd be at our nation's capital when the entire area shut down in the dark. Or, that's we'd find a Wisconsin pub in DC.

Well, despite the emergency closures, it was fun experience going to this new place for the first time.  The cherry blossoms were in full bloom, and their presence in front of the unique architecture of the area really struck me as something aesthetic and impressionable.

The crime and punishment museum was WAY beyond my expectations.  They had it all- a Frank Abignale section, Gacy's clown costumes and artwork, Bonnie and Clyde's getaway car with an insane amount of bullet holes.... I am so glad we didn't miss that museum.

As we walked to the Lincoln Memorial, we passed many old trees lining the walkway, when I saw what looked like a weird face in the tree. Nobody believed me, so I jumped the fence and had to get a closer look.

"So... where can we find a grilled cheese around here?"

I arrived back to the Garden State with a chipmunk prize at the reststop in Maryland, a glow in the dark constellation mug, and bags under my eyes from lack of sleep.  Who cares; we spend 1/3 of our lives asleep anyways.
