Van Gogh-ing all over the place yesterday

This is what fall feels like. It's a grey morning with the shape of the bright sun trying to shine through the thin clouds. New Jersey's just starting to get a little more red at the tops of trees, and the nights are a little too cool for my liking. I detest the cold but I really do love the fall (and celebrating my birthday of course).

I started a new job for Young Champions on Friday nights and I have quite a few elementary aged children who really love art. Believe me, having an eager group of kids is just what the doctor ordered for me! There are a few spanish speakers, a couple kids off the wall, a couple of huggers, and a couple of really attentive serious artists and I really do love every single one of them. Many of them said they couldn't wait to see me again next Friday <3

These sunflowers are appropriate for the fall season. We picked out fall colors (although I made sure to tell them that your sunflowers can be any color you want), and we made them more dimensional. The centers of these flowers don't have to be circular, but more oval shaped. The pedals don't have to the same size- when they're closer to you they change shapes. They look like they're blowing in the wind.

Oh how did that get in there? I took this picture last night; turns out I had no clue there was a billboard with Daimon and my face on it for 2 weeks in Belmar. ::Blushing::
