Generosity of heart

Every time I go up and down the stairs with bags and boxes of items, I take a moment to appreciate the generosity of people.   This weekend was no exception.  I had the pleasure of spending some time with both of my grandmothers who save piles of thoughtful things for me to take home- coupons, sewing supplies, art supplies, supplies for teaching, photo references, recipes, photographs, and sometime the occasional box of pasta or jar of peanut butter.  I'm the luckiest person in the world to think I have both of those women in my life.

It's a rare treat to bring home a big box filled with zippers.

It might have been fate that I would continue receiving some amazing things all week! A friend gave me a terminator action figure and Jonny Quest figurine, but I didn't want them to stay in my studio unless they had something to do.

My nan gave me some thread to work with for this new project I've started. My lovely grandmother gave me my Great Grandmother's linens; real heirlooms! Look at how beautiful and intricate these treasures are?

Earlier in the week I was given a new...well... not exactly new... old but new for my collection) film camera body and lens! I can't wait to get the roll of film back to make sure there's no light leakage onto the film.  If all looks good, this will probably be the film camera I take to Texas and New Orleans this year. We leave in 4 days!
