A phenomenon on an old negative

I was going through my big binder of negatives the other day; a book so thick and heavy I loathed moving it to my many homes the past 5 years. A few strips were scanned and wanted to post this one. I took this picture of Daimon at Colliers Mills in Jackson, NJ 11 years ago. The ring was unplanned.
