Happy Halloween!

Last year was filled with hayrides and haunted attractions, and as much fun as it was, this Halloween has a different flavor. As with all seasons, it's a challenge to repeat activities and have too many traditions. For the first time, Daimon and I saw a movie in the beautiful Paramount Theater on the Asbury Park Boardwalk. The city started a free movie series, and the movie to kick it off was "The Shining". The bass of that soundtrack was so beautifully loud that even the 70's style screen was shaking. Easily over 100 people showed up and enjoyed an afterparty in the beautiful upstairs loft to discuss the film. We hope to do that again next year!
You can check out what movies are coming up here.

Now that Halloween's finally here, we're heading up north to Montclair to play a party and show off some handmade costumes.

It's also been a busy season for teaching as well. I teach a variety of age groups, but for the most part the classes consist of making horror movie maquettes that combine animal and human features (in Media Arts), enjoying a Greek feast and designing geometric patterns on terra-cotta pottery (in Art History, and drawing sugar skulls (an after school art program).  We even had a visiting special FX artist come show the students how to make fake bloody wounds and visited a cemetery to do some tombstone rubbings.  I start teaching hand building techniques on Monday afternoons through Monmouth County Park System too.  There's a lot of part time work for art teachers, but it's very important to stay organized with all the traveling and materials!

Album Release Show Preparations

We have some recording dates set with AntFarm Studio (Anthony the engineer is aka Tony Appleseed) in Freehold and we are so ready to put out this Bone & Marrow album.  We ordered the sleeves already and we have some fun packaging planned. Daimon and I took a trip to get some fabrics that will go nicely for what we have in mind. More show and album details coming soon!

We have one band, Homeless Apians, confirmed to play our release show. If you haven't heard of them yet, check them out! They're a group you need to know about:  https://www.facebook.com/homelessapians
