REVOLUTION IN JUST LISTENING THIS SATURDAY

In 3 days from now, this Saturday, an alliance of great bands are playing a benefit at McDonagh's Pub in Keyport NJ. 100% of the proceeds go to Habitat for Humanity.

The show was put together by our very own, Liz Dayback, and her friend Matt Burns. He writes, "Habitat for Humanity/ Coastal Habitat for Humanity is a beautiful organization, because when fema leaves, and the red cross shows up late & then leaves, and when insurance companies don't hold up their end of the deal, and the US government lets helpless victims remain helpless for 66 days and counting (and just denied us aid today!! -Jenny).... habitat for humanity comes through. You get to see your money put to work, because you can volunteer to help these people rebuild their homes yourself right at this event. (I'll hand you the sign-up sheet when you have a few drinks in you.) Just to be clear: we're not raising money to build one house. We ARE rallying volunteers & raising money to fix as many broken homes as possible. You'll be able to see & touch what you did to help. (.....but first we're going to soften you up with a bunch of booze, great food, and bands.)"

Liz was interviewed by the Asbury Park Press about the event here.

Artists will be exhibiting, some great items are being raffled, and of course we'll be there, playing in the heated tent.

I love this flyer! This whale was on the side of a Union Beach landmark which had been severely damaged by the hurricane and torn down. A local artist painted the flyer just for this event. I was so impressed when I saw the canvas in person; immediately humbled by its hopeful message and intention.  The artist writes, "I wanted to show a contrast between the mean ocean that night to a new day".  I don't think this event could have come at a better time, so let's start this new year the right way, giving back and helping those move forward!

Peace.
