First and foremost, I MUST say, it was a very celebratory weekend! Congrats to one of the best couples, who I photograph every year with their son in the Zinnia farm. Anthony and Jordan finally tied the knot, and Daimon and I were there every step of the way. I had more laughs on the dance floor and in the Photo Booth than anyone!
We waited in a weird room at the venue for the ceremony to begin. We took a selfie with the "Persistence of Memory".
There's quite a few birthdays coming up! I designed the image for the cake! We're having a puppet party at the apartment next week. Let's just say, we invited friends and puppets.
The cat's been very good lately, so I bought him a little autumn sweater.
I have been trying to get a little more organized lately too. I feel really productive when some things can get thrown out, rediscovered, shared or given away, or brought to the thrift store.
Lastly, I've been very busy since the start of the school year. I'm currently teaching 3 classes: Media Arts (Animation, video, photography), Art History, and a Cultural Crafts class. In Media Arts, students have been drawing anime-style characters and dragons. We watched Spirited Away and ate sushi! Maybe of the students never ate with chopsticks before or knew what was in a california roll. It was one of those "Top 10 days".
In Art History, we've finally made it to Egyptian Art. We'll be weaving strips from paperboys in a traditional way to make our own "papyrus" on Friday.
Lastly, we recently finished a unit on Inuit art in the Cultural Crafts class, and we're currently on Hawaiian arts and crafts. We've been snacking on pineapple, listening to ukulele instrumental music, and drawing exotic flowers with colored chalk. I can't wait to see how they turn out! All of the students in that class are very meticulous workers.
It's been a great school year so far, and a very productive month! Two weddings in two weeks and many more birthdays to celebrate? It's amazing I have time to do much else!
