Post- March

I'm so filled with gratitude that I walked along side the most passionate, protective, motherly, sisterly and brotherly, open minded, and caring people in the march over the weekend. To have participated in such an important and historic event, that was LONG OVER DUE, will be something I remember for a lifetime. 

I'm proud of my family for going to DC yesterday; standing up and marching forward. One of the speeches made a brilliant point- that for the next 4 years, we have to promise EVERY DAY that we approach those with hate and fear with love. Aggression and violence is not the way. We need to live by example and be courageous and caring to those who have opinions or a belief system that is wrongfully discriminatory and harmful to others. When I rose my hand with the 1000's promising I'd enter uncomfortable conversations and find compassion, empathy, and patience for the ignorant and arrogant, I meant it. Let the work begin!
