Fun in the Kitchen

Although it's not written on paper, I do keep a list of New Year's resolutions in my head and try to meet all my goals before the year's end. One of my goals for this year is to experiment a lot more in the kitchen with recipes that are out of my comfort zone. Two things I always wanted to make was a homemade pizza and curries.  I never lived with roommates who enjoyed indian food (until now!) and there are many hard to find, difficult to pronounce, ingredients. Now I don't have the excuse since I invested in some spices.

It wasn't the best tasting tofu curry ever, but it wasn't a bad first try. I guess I'd give it 3 out of 5 stars.

I committed to buying 2 pizza stones, which were surprisingly cheap, and really enjoyed making pizza. It was a huge hit and so easy to do.  I'm not the biggest fan of cheese, so I made the half vegan pie with kalamata olives. These pizzas tasted so much better than what you get delivered.

If you don't have a standing mixer, it's easy to make your own dough by hand. It's very similar to making homemade pasta. Here's a how-to if you're interested. It's fun and impressive ;)
