Oh my! I rediscovered this artist!

When I tell you, I've been looking for this artist's painting online for MONTHS, it would not be an exaggeration. I had seen this painting either at the MET or the MoMA in New York, and it really left an impression on me. Now I'd like to teach my students how to explore the nature of color relationships in a color study painting and I wanted to have this artist to reference. Frantisek Kupka, a Czech artist, stole my heart with this painting. The beautiful face poking through a color waterfall left an imprint in my mind's eye. I don't remember the colors quite like this reference, but as I had learned from my art history professor, online images are almost never the correct color, brightness, glossiness, or saturation as the original. The magentas and reds in this piece are lost in this copy, but you get the idea.
