Cattus Island's environmental center was left abandoned in the wake of Hurricane Sandy, with no plan as to when it would be restored. The government can only do so much, and it's time for the community help. The purpose of this benefit is to generate funds for Cattus Island County Park's Cooper Environmental Center, which has been closed since Super Storm Sandy. Once reconstruction is underway, the Center will need assistance for new displays and equipment to carry on its many educational programs. Cattus Island provides the young and old with opportunities to appreciate and learn about the Barnegat Bay. Any young person who grew up in Ocean County who had an interest in nature, science, animals, or enjoying all the bay has to offer would know about Cattus Island and what it does for the community. The Cooper Center was a hub of environmental awareness and education. This facility is so vital to the community and provides enriching programs for visitors, naturalists, schools, adults, and people with disabilities. It is sorely missed. It's a memorable show to close out the summer for this important cause.
This is an ALL-AGES outdoor event, wristbands for 21+ for beer truck and bar. RAINDATE: SEPT 7th
