August Makings

Although some see the summer as a time to relax and unwind, it's a very productive time for me to work on my own personal projects.  Daimon and I have been working on a special project to help raise money for Cattus Island's environmental center in Toms River. Nearly all the nature studies are done from life, not a photo.

Our friend Richie Brown made tarot cards with his own symbols and we read the cat. The pizza is a symbol for complacency and the books represent stubbornness and rigidity.  You can imagine how funny it was for the cat to cut the deck and interpret his reading.

I'm not sure he was satisfied with his reading.

Lighting painting.

I made zucchini flowers recently for the first time all summer.  If you have a garden of zukes you know don't what you're missing if you haven't tried the flowers!

I didn't make these donuts, but someone else customized them for me. If you live in NJ, you have to check out Uncle Dude's donuts in Toms River.  I'm not much of a donut person but I swear this place kicks butt. The fruity pebbles donut is particularly interesting and tasty. This photo does not represent how damn good these were.

This found Imperial moth has a home.. in my shadow box :P    Pretty soon I'll be acquiring a luna moth at my summer job, Insectropolis.

And lastly, my final phase of hair coloring. My amazing friend (who works at A Touch of Class in Point Pleasant) styles hair like no other and recommended I try this one. I'm looking forward to when it fades to periwinkle, but this color is electric!
