A few of us were walking along the boardwalk with our coffees in hand and decided to stop at this random tent titled "Boardwalk Journey" by the infamous Ed Jarrett, who also built the largest sand castle in the world according to the Guinness Book. All the sand from that commission was used for this one- to reconstruct the history of the boardwalk; retelling a dark past for some towns and notable attractions that have been long forgotten for years. I had no idea that Lucy the elephant had a cousin in NJ, or that one of the first roller coasters was located at Sandy Hook.
So, why were the boardwalks even constructed?
Weird NJ even did a write up on this sculptor with some information about the exhibit. You can learn more about it here.
