Daimon and I had made plans with another couple to photograph an abandoned town yesterday, but the weather discouraged us from taking the long drive. In that part of north NJ, 200+ car accidents were reported because of the freezing rain. Thankfully we decided to avoid that! Instead, we took some pictures of uninhabitable homes in Jackson and New Egypt, and explored the Columbus Auction. That's where I made an amazing purchase; a 1950's "Illustrated Guide to Sex". The artwork was so unique (and dated...) that I didn't need to read any words to decide if I should bring it home.
I spent some time the past few days looking at Caldacott awarded books, just for some inspiration on collage and printmaking. I also started reading "Alone Together"too, and it's one of the most eye-opening books I've read in a long time. It's really made me rethink our unhealthy addiction to technology as a society.

Flotsam was one of the Caldacott books I had the pleasure of "reading" even though there are no words, only pictures.
Also, Daimon's birthday just passed, and my old man continues to be the most hansom person I've ever met. I'm honored to have enjoyed the many years with him. We stopped at Green Planet's open mic in Point Pleasant and everyone sang happy birthday. Happy Birthday to my favorite person!
