It's egg time

It's officially Pysanky season again, and my box of demonstration materials has been reorganized with new dyes added.  This year I'm teaching at a few different locations, including Toms River library, Belmar Arts Council, Thompson Park Arts Center, and of course to my advanced art students at the high school.  I wrote up a post a while back on the process here.

I showed a few friends this weekend how to make one, and it's always so gratifying to see people do their own thing with it. Some people like to keep it traditional, with traditional symbols and color symbolism.  Others write all over the egg in a spontaneous way, just embracing that they don't have the most steady hand and making it their own.  I have tried more challenging designs the past 2 days, and I've been pretty satisfied with my outcomes.
