Alan of the Porchistas organized the event and he's having the best time of his life at the place he calls home. Thomas Wesley Stern killed it, without mics, in the tavern to beat the heat.
Prior to the show, Daimon was determined to get his hives installed for the summer, so we picked up a noisy, busy colony. I wished my film camera was on my side but it wouldn't have captured the noisy sounds of productivity. I'm doing a bee dance in hopes of harvesting honey and wax this year.
Last Sunday, the Schuster farm had some chickies for me to pick up. I couldn't stop taking pictures; the clouds were like whipped cream.
We're not sure what kind of birds they are, but I suspect they might be Easter Egg layers.
At school, the art classes are finishing up their projects and I'm getting my grades in. The advanced art group broke some plates (which was their favorite part), adhered the shards on flower pots and grouted after taking a virtual tour of the Magic Gardens in Philadelphia.
In the other art classes, I just finished a unit on clay sculpture. The students made salt and pepper shakers, but they had to have some kind of relationship. I like where this one is going- a bear and a pot of honey. You would have to lift the head to reveal the other shaker.
This week I spent a lot of my afternoons catching up with friends, writing emails to get gigs this summer, and spending some time outside in this comfortable weather. A moth landed on my nose for a whole minute because I sat there so still. I need more of these moments this summer.
A sneak peak shot from an advertisement I modeled in this week. I can't wait to see it when it's finished.
This weekend, the plan is to spend some time with my lovely Grandmother for her birthday in New York City. We are looking forward to a tasty lunch and a tour at the Tenement Museum. Sunday, Daimon and I are participating in a Fine Art and Crafts sale at the Ocean County Artist Guild. I hope those pillows find a loving home!
