Like an Episode of Green Acres

A few months back, Daimon and I wanted to participate in the first annual holiday craft fair at Whitesbog, so we registered and got to work to make calendars, bags, and sewn products. I was taken by surprise when my boss, interanationally known calligrapher Bernard Maisner, asked me to help him work an event at Bergdorf Goodman on 5th avenue in New York. Daimon took care of our table at the event in the Pine Barrens, and I headed to New York in my "power boots". Daimon explained to the friends and fans that I'd be rubbing elbows at one of the most high end stores on the planet.

I did meet the editor in chief of a wedding magazine. She told me I looked modelesque (I was beaming!).

It was very difficult to photograph their holiday window display this year, but each window looked like a painstaking amount of work. My photo does not do it justice; the windows were spectacular to say the least. Please check out the Bergdorf blog to see the windows:

Before I got the day started, I tucked in my sleepy, furry child.

I had an hour to spare before heading to the store, so I found my way to Bibble and Sip.  I'm pretty sure it was the first time I was ever served latte art.  I sat in the only stool available (clearly the cafe has a reputation!) and oped a new book "When the Women were Drummers". After the first 5 pages, I was hooked.

On the bus ride home, I continued where I left off in the book. Here's a snippet.

Beehives and felines!
