It really has been an honor writing and recording this EP with the band, and it has been especially gratifying working with our recording engineer, Charlie Busacca, of Machine Shop in Belleville, NJ. It was a rewarding experience writing the title track, "Martian Diver", in particular since it took nearly 2 years for the song to develop into what it is today.
We can't wait to share this album; you get a little of everything. It's crafted in a way that allows all elements to be heard, and if you listen closely, you'll hear instruments and vocals that you may not have been expecting ("Wait, did I just hear an opera singer?"). I think that's what makes Elevator Art a unique band that stands out from an abundance of NJ bands; we utilize instruments and vocals in an untraditional way for effects in songs inspired by Frank Zappa, Led Zeppelin, the Rolling Stones, Queen, Radiohead, and Pink Floyd. The band often throws these references out there, but my personal influences are quite different and vastly diverse in genre. Local Natives, the 70's band Renaissance, and even a little bit of Cradle of Filth female vocals are meshed together when I think of what my influences were when crafting this ep.
Come celebrate with us and pick up an ep! October 20th at the Stone Pony.

Who drew that martian diver?? Gregg Bautista's technique and style are unparalleled to any artist I know of. He was the perfect choice to do our album art. You check out his art and future exhibitions at these links:
