Body Image and Art

I'd say I'm a pretty confident person as far as body image goes, but since I fit that societal norm of "skinny, blonde, blue-eyed, 20-something year old" it's no wonder that I'm comfortable in my own skin. It's much easier to dislike yourself when you're concerned with the views of others and you don't fit that mold of what the media likes to portray. I saw a sharpie-written message on a mirror in a bathroom the other day which read, "Warning. Image in this mirror may be distorted by socially constructed ideas of beauty."  I wish that message was on every bathroom mirror in high schools.

Found this image online and wanted to share. It's titled "Wrong Century" by Tomas Kucerovsky.
