My 1st Attempt at Scratchboard

2013 is turning into the year of new beginnings and new experiences with media. I didn't think I'd enjoy working with scratchboard, but that scraping process was really therapeutic and meditative.  It forced me to slow down and make each stroke with certainty; unlike the quick contour lines of discovery apparent in my life drawings. It was surprising how something as tiny as the point of a needle could leave the faintest mark on the board. It truly is a unique medium that is unparalleled to any other I've worked with.  There will be many more to come.
