Welcome to my new creative space

The room remained empty for a few days after our roommate left, but Daimon and I filled the space with our voices before unloading all my art and sewing supplies.

In just a few days, the room was almost finished. Assembling all that Ikea furniture was like putting together 3D puzzles (which I surprisingly enjoyed).

Some shots from the studio...
My mini sewing machine collection has grown quite a bit.

My dad custom made this spool holder that I drew up on a piece of paper.

I volunteered a farm in Lakewood NJ a few times this summer and farmer Schuster has some amazing exotic birds. This modest collection would be a lot larger if I volunteered more. The large bending feather belongs to Happy, his free range emu. The brass ornate vessel was given to me when I paid the bill at one of our favorite Indian restaurants in Montclair, NJ.  It was such a random and appreciated gift. The Matryoska to the right has my name scribbled on the bottom from when I was little.  It's one of the few little things from my youth I managed to save that didn't make it to a garage sale.

I've been busy making and there's no shame in sharing pics of this organized mess! An artist's studio should reflect the person who creates in it.  One photographer documented Picasso's studio, and if you haven't seen that, you should definitely check it out here!
