A rare day

It's hard to tell if I had an amazing, exciting, memorable day, or a really peculiar, quirky, and unpredictable day.  From the moment I woke up, to this hour of night, things have not going the way I've planned, but I'm open to the strangeness of unpredictability.

The Art History class went on a class trip to visit the cherry blossoms of Branch Brook Park; they climbed trees and did a little sketching.  Not every tree was fuchsia pink, and rain clouds kept impeding on our trip, but we made the best of it.  We then visited the beautiful Sacred Heart Cathedral- the largest in the Garden State. Let's just say, the group of us got a little lost in the cathedral on the way to the bathroom.  In case you ever get the chance to use the facilities at Sacred Heart, I'll just ruin the surprise for you and tell you there will be some stained glass panels of patron saints with their eyes on you as you relieve yourself.

After work (was that really "work"??), I went with a friend to visit a very interesting wedding venue; filled to the brim with statues, sculptures, found objects, a giant metal clown, and... fake apples hanging from trees. It is the perfect venue for anyone who has an affinity for roadside America. I'm glad she signed the contract because there will be no wedding quite like this one!

Immediately following our visit, we had to park in a vacant parking lot, in a weird abandoned town, due to an inconvenient flat tire. Hey, flat tires happen.  But it's not every day you have to spend an hour in an undecorated, strangely lit cafe to meet the AAA driver who looked like a mole in human clothes. I'm not kidding. He had the perfect eyes, face shape, and stature to be a human-sized mole.

The day was not over yet...

Between the towing experience and right now, here's a few odd moments to add to the list:

- A flute player started playing outside the Barnes and Nobles bathroom, and when I came out it seemed like the world was staring at me exiting the bathroom as this random person serenaded me.

- I picked up my sister from the dance, and she was nominated QUEEN!! She was so funny about it too; waving and bowing like a queen as she left the dance.

- Daimon and I bought a book together. We don't normally feel similarly and share a fascination with the same book (the last time we did, it was a book called "Designa" by the way. A great book for your shelf). We purchased a book called "Magic: 1400's-1950's". I can't wait to see the flyers we can make with some of these images.
