Local Summer

The tourists go home and leave the locals with a sunny weekend that's nearly 90 degrees! Daimon and I went swimming after photographing a family on the beach. The beach was nearly naked! While it was a little too bright and sunny for the ideal photoshoot, I did manage to take a few cute candids.

The oldest daughter in the family hadn't stepped into the ocean since she was a baby, and her sense of wonder really interested me. I think I could say that I've held onto my childlike sense of wonder about the world. I am often in awe, appreciative of new environments and how all my senses can be engaged. I want every second of my beach experience to be as pure and intense as this little girl's.

No matter where you are in your life, take a moment to be curious and open to life.  Allow the "magic" of life to unfold when you observe the natural world.  Birds, clouds, plants, the stars, and everything that human beings have been surrounded by for tens of thousands of years all offer us a lesson, but it takes an open person to care enough to experience it.
